Extra curricular activities are an important part of a student’s life at LBIS. The Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) Department was formed last year. It is a merger between the Community Service Department and the Activities Department.

The reason behind the merger was to inculcate the spirit of CAS to the entire school. All activities offered to our students tend to centre around the three themes, namely, Creativity, Action and Service.

Students choose an activity they wish to follow for a full term from a published list at the beginning of the term. Their respective supervisors record their attendance.

We would welcome ideas/suggestions and help from the whole LBIS community (Parents, ex-students, administrative staff ...). Please email, further down the page, the extra curricular activities coordinators if you want to propose/supervise an activity.

Rules for Activities (Extra Curricular Activities Committee)

  1. Every student should be enrolled in 1 activity only for a term and no request of change of activity will be accepted during the term.
  2. Every teacher should be actively involved in the good running of the activity’s programme.
  3. Any teacher who has not got the required amount of students in his/her activity will be asked to help another colleague or be assigned as Area Supervisor for the term.
  4. The list of spare teachers will be communicated to the Time Table Coordinator at the beginning of the term and covers will be dealt with by the Time Table Coordinator.
  5. The supervisor is responsible for the group of students enrolled in his/her activity for the whole of the activity session.
  6. Should an activity be stopped during the term, the supervisor remains in charge of the group until the end of term.
  7. Supervisors should ensure that mobility of students during the activity lesson is reduced to a strict minimum.
    1. Students may be allowed to leave an activity only for a valid reason with the permission slip. It is the supervisor’s responsibility to ensure that students do not make an abuse of this practice.
    2. Any staff wishing to interact with a student enrolled in another activity should provide a written request to the supervisor offering that activity. The permission to leave the activity remains at the discretion of the supervisor.
  8. Attendance of the students must be taken by all supervisors in the official teacher’s plan book. Any absence must be reported through the Area Supervisor to the Activity Coordinators.
  9. Any suspected absence is to be reported immediately to the Area Supervisor. For any unexcused absence detected, the absentee will be served a detention on the following Thursday afternoon.
  10. Students must not be released before the bell. They must remain occupied throughout the lesson.
