Middle school:

The department offers two subjects in the middle school namely Geography and History from Form 1 to 3. These are taught actually over a period of 3 hours per cycle (two weeks). These will be reduced to 2.5 hours as from next year starting in form 1.

The middle school is gearing to restructure its programme and implement the IB MYP programme in 2011 starting in Form 1. Some new development in the middle school has been the introduction of the History trip to Egypt 2009 and the plan is Tibet in 2010.

The Geography subject area has well settled with the Geofest competition which is held yearly in Lucknow in India.

High School:

For the High School, the department offers 4 subjects at IGCSE level and 5 subjects at IB level. The Business subjects namely Economics and Business Studies are the most popular choice of the students at LBIS at IGCSE and IB level. The department is looking forward to enhance the teaching and learning process through more intensive use of IT in those areas through the use of more and more PowerPoint presentations, on-line resources facilities and so on. History and Geography are also offered at IGCSE and IB level depending upon the number of students opting for these subjects for the year 2010. History will be offered only at IGCSE level. Psychology is offered only at IB Level both at SL and HL level.
